London-based Winch Design recently unveiled plans for its 328-foot trimaran concept, an impressive superyacht with a designated landing deck and hangar for the AgustaWestland 609 TiltRotor aircraft. With the takeoff and landing capabilities of a helicopter and the flying abilities of a plane, the TiltRotor—which was originally created for military use and will be available for civilians in 2017—will effortlessly enable island hopping or day excursions during yachting trips. Developed in conjunction with the Dutch shipyard Oceanco, the yacht—which also features space for tender garages—will have a top speed of 26 to 28 knots. Additional details about the yacht have yet to be revealed. (winchdesign.com)
