Ethos

Ethos ($6,495 per pair)
Kansas-based electrostatic speaker manufacturer MartinLogan incorporated a number of innovations into its new Ethos models to improve the low-frequency response, while maintaining its famed high-register clarity by implementing its trademarked XStat technology. The engineers at MartinLogan pair an eight-inch woofer and eight-inch passive radiator in the base of each Ethos speaker with a 24-bit digital signal processor and an onboard 200-watt amplifier. These technologies help the Ethos hit frequencies as low as 34 Hz with the same level of clarity and precision that the electrostats are famous for achieving on the high end.
