Unlike the majority of other smartphones, the Vertu Signature for Bentley—the second handset developed by the high-end phone manufacturer in its five-year partnership with Bentley—does not feature a touchscreen. Instead, the voice-centric phone includes a traditional alphanumeric keypad and a screen protected by scratch-proof sapphire, the second-most-durable natural material in the world. The Signature provides top-notch call quality, while side-mounted speakers ensure optimal sound. Many of the design notes are nods to Bentley’s automobiles: The phone’s polished stainless-steel sides feature a knurled finish similar to the Bentley’s control knobs; the Beluga Black calf-leather case is sourced from the same tannery used by the automotive brand; and the phone case displays the Bentley Flying B titanium emblem.

The Signature for Bentley can be customized to match owners’ preferences. Using the Made to Order online tool, customers can match their phone and case to their Bentley car leather and stitching or create an original design from over 2,300 possible combinations. Signature for Bentley ownership comes with a one-year complimentary access to Vertu Concierge (via a button on the handset), which provides round-the-clock expert assistance by voice or e-mail from anywhere in the world. Bentley and Vertu unveiled the new mobile handset at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June and will also be on display at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August. Available for preorder, the Vertu Signature for Bentley (from $13,300) will officially launch in mid-September. (vertu.com; bentleymotors.com)
