Arctic Jackets with Drake’s Swagger
Since its inception in 1957, Canada Goose has focused on the practical, producing a steady stream of jackets, gloves, and mittens for the most extreme conditions (the brand’s Expedition Parka is standard issue for the scientists at Antarctica’s McMurdo Station). In October, the Toronto-based company—which proudly makes all of its items in Canada—chose to spotlight style, teaming up with the Canadian rapper Drake and his lifestyle brand October’s Very Own (OVO) to release the fourth Canada Goose and OVO collaboration.
The collection comprises a black baseball cap ($50) with OVO’s owl logo embroidered in gold and two rugged yet hip bomber jackets reminiscent of those worn by Arctic bush pilots. The men’s sleek black Foxe Bomber ($1,125) features a removable shearling collar, rib-knit cuffs, and fleece-lined pockets. The women’s black Chilliwack Bomber ($895) boasts a black coyote-fur hood, utility pockets, and interior shoulder straps that allow the wearer to nonchalantly remove the jacket when warm without actually having to take it off—essentially, the latest equivalent of tying it around your waist.
