Designer Sneakers on Parade at Saks Fifth Avenue

The newest men’s sneakers combine comfort with exceptional style touches that range from luxurious exotic-skin trim to edgy stud details and striking color combinations. In response to the growing trend in high-end men’s sneakers, Saks Fifth Avenue is rolling out Sneaks, a designer sneaker shop online and in-store at 16 key Saks locations, including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, and Houston. The in-store Sneaks installation will include high-tops, slip-ons, athletic sneakers, and limited-edition models by Maison Martin Margiela, Giuseppe Zanotti, DSquared, Fendi, and more. “This launch comes in response to the overwhelming popularity of sneakers at Saks Fifth Avenue over the past three seasons,” says Tom Ott, senior vice president and men’s general merchandise manager at Saks Fifth Avenue. “Saks buyers have pulled together an incredible assortment for spring to cater to the growing demand for what’s new and next in designer sneakers.” A focus of the launch will be a series of designer collaborations. Raf Simons × Adidas is a unisex line with a playful comic-book aesthetic. Y-3 × Adidas brings together Yohji Yamamoto and the legendary art director Peter Saville, famous for his album artwork for Joy Division and New Order. There will also be a springtime focus on slip-on sneakers, including high-end versions of the classic skater shoe. (www.saksfifthavenue.com)
