Gray was the freshest color on the spring-collection runways in Paris—not a heavy, redoubtable banker’s gray, but a lighter shade that added sophistication to everything from suits to shoes. Perhaps the most stellar example is this Louis Vuitton evening jacket (www.louisvuitton.com), a steely, single-breasted cut designed by Kim Jones, the brand’s studio and style director. Made from Japanese kimono silk, the trim evening jacket ($3,550) will add just enough sparkle on a formal occasion or give a pair of jeans and a white shirt a welcome dash of glamour.
