Creature Comforts

Located on Madison Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, the new Tomas Maier (tomasmaier.com) boutique offers the designer’s comfortable weekend wear, including cotton T-shirts and trousers, cashmere sweaters, and suede jackets. “On the weekend, the last thing you want to think about is what to wear,” says Maier, who also has shops in East Hampton, N.Y., and Palm Beach, Fla., and serves as Bottega Veneta’s creative director. “These clothes feel pleasant against the skin and can easily be worn together and layered.” In addition to basics that can be worn any time of the year, Maier offers seasonal items such as the calf-suede jacket ($3,150), jersey T-shirt ($100), and lightweight gabardine trousers ($310) shown here. The shops also carry a range of sandals, moccasins, and beach towels.
