Perched on 78 acres of verdant hills that overlook the Pacific Ocean from a scenic bluff, the luxurious Bacara Resort & Spa will once again be the site of the Santa Barbara Food & Wine Weekend, the second iteration of which will be held April 16 through 19.

Highlights from the weekend’s gourmet events include a Western-themed Grand Wine Dinner with the award-winning actor and winemaker Kurt Russell, featuring his new label, GoGi Wines, as well as Hudson Bellamy Wines (inspired by the actor Kate Hudson) and Ampelos Cellars. The Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Association will hold a wine-tasting reception featuring wines from over 40 Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez wineries, paired with delicacies prepared by the resort’s chefs. And an alfresco buffet lunch on the resort’s Ocean Lawn will star the celebrity chef Suzanne Goin (Lucques, AOC, and Tavern) and David Lentz, chef and owner of Santa Barbara’s Hungry Cat. The festival will also offer cooking seminars with famed chefs and cookbook authors, among them Jim Dodge, Anne Willan, and Virginia Willis. The Santa Barbara Neighborhood Farmers Market will feature tastings from dozens of local and nationally acclaimed chefs, artisans, winemakers, and farmers.

Bacara Resort & Spa is offering a room package (from $450 per night) that includes a two-night stay during the event, a welcome amenity of local artisanal food products, and valet parking. (bacararesort.com)
