With a range of 5,000 miles, the Gulfstream G450 (gulfstream.com) offers nonstop travel between Teterboro, N.J., and London or Tokyo and Seattle. It has enough power to climb to a cruising altitude of 41,000 feet in just 23 minutes, and its cruising speed is 528 mph. The cabin, which is 40 feet 4 inches long, can be configured to seat as many as 16 passengers or as few as eight. The latter layout can include a forward club seating area, a work area, and an aft space that can serve as a private or semiprivate stateroom with its own temperature controls.
The cabin maintains the feel of sea-level pressurization at 22,000 feet. Oversized windows and a constant supply of fresh air further enhance passenger comfort. The G450 costs about $43.2 million.
