FrontRunners: Tobacco to Go

<< Back to Robb Report, The Mighty MP4-12C

During the Great Depression and the days of the 5-cent cigar, New York’s self-proclaimed “Tobacconist to the World” Nat Sherman was selling his hand-rolled smokes for a dollar. To celebrate its 80th year in business, Sherman’s namesake company has commissioned the Globe-Trotter Nat Sherman Humidor (www.natsherman.com). British luggage maker Globe-Trotter used 114-year-old Victorian machinery to assemble the 25 numbered pieces. Lightweight and extremely rigid, each case is cedar-lined and made from vulcanized fiberboard. Its two lift-out trays can accommodate Churchill-size cigars. Nat Sherman has set aside a few of the $800 cases specifically for Robb Report readers.
