To celebrate its five-year anniversary, the Farm at Cape Kidnappers in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, is inviting 44 guests to enjoy an exclusive food and wine weekend with New Zealand native celebrity chef Peter Gordon. The weekend will kick off on Friday, August 31, with a cocktail reception, followed by a one-hour cooking demonstration on Saturday morning, September 1, during which chef Gordon—who owns three award-winning restaurants in London and one in New Zealand—will share his culinary secrets. For the main event on Saturday night, the chef is creating a five-course dinner paired with wines from Neudorf Vineyards (located in New Zealand’s Nelson region). The menu is still being finalized, but seared yellowtail with nori sauce and lotus crisps; pumpkin buffalo ricotta and Parmesan cannelloni; and roasted venison with Jerusalem artichokes, porcini coconut curry, and quince aioli will be part of the offerings.
The complete package (from about $650 per person per night) includes accommodation in a suite at Cape Kidnappers, with meals and free range of the lodge’s facilities, as well as the choice of either a day of golf or a 50-minute massage per person. (+64.6.875.1900, www.capekidnappers.com)
