New York chef Tom Colicchio—whose restaurant portfolio includes Gramercy Tavern, Craft, and Colicchio & Sons—has opened his latest venture at Topping Rose House, a recently restored 19th-century mansion in Bridgehampton. The restaurant, which opened in late September, comprises a 50-seat dining room, a wraparound porch (open seasonally), a 25-seat bar room, two fireplaces, and private dining for up to 45 guests in the barn. For the menu, Colicchio is focusing on fresh seasonal ingredients sourced from the property’s farm. Dishes include burrata with braised zucchini, lemon thyme, and crisped zucchini blossoms; and roasted rabbit with pickled watermelon and chanterelle mushrooms.
By March 2013, the rest of the mansion will open as a fully operating inn with 22 guest rooms, wellness facilities, an outdoor pool, a crabapple orchard, and a studio space for private events. (631.537.0870, www.toppingrosehouse.com)
