Arturo Fuente King T

<< Back to Robb Report, 22nd Annual Best of the Best

For some cigar manufacturers, packaging is everything. For others, it is the quality of the cigar that counts. In the case of Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic, it is both, as exemplified by one of the brand’s first new offerings in years, the Arturo Fuente King T (www.cigarfamily.com, $10), the T of which stands for tubos. These ultra-aged cigars were ready long before they were finally released last fall, but Carlos Fuente Jr. would not permit them to be boxed until the exquisitely designed tubes met with his critical approval. As expected, the cigars themselves are the epitome of perfection. The Connecticut shade wrapper is smooth and flawless and, combined with a Dominican binder and filler, delivers a gentle yet spicy flavor. Only one size is available, a 7 x 49 Churchill, packed 24 to a box. For an afternoon on the golf course, it is all the cigar you will need.
