Best Of The Best 2006: Orange Plush

<< Back to Robb Report, Best of the Best

The Marnier-Lapostolle company first made the Grand Marnier Cuvée Cent du Cinquantenaire in 1977 to celebrate its 150th anniversary. In addition to the trademark Marnier bitter orange essence (from the species Citrus bigaradia), this cuvée is distinguished by the rare reserve Cognacs employed in its manufacture, most of them from Grande Champagne and aged as long as 50 years. The shimmering amber color, lovely toasted orange nose, silken texture, lush orange and orange-rind flavors, and complex Cognac highlights make it the ultimate expression of one of the world’s finest liqueurs.
