A Brilliant Bottle

Louis Roederer has wrapped its Cristal 2002 jeroboam in 23 feet of hand-carved 24-karat-gold latticework ($25,000). Designed by the Paris-based artist Philippe Di Méo, this is the first limited-edition design collaboration from the Champagne house. There are 200 bottles available worldwide, with just 25 in the United States. The complex gold case is created by two goldsmiths over the course of four days, and it showcases one of the brand’s rarest vintages. The Cristal 2002 features scents of honey, toasted hazelnuts, and candied citrus fruit and flavors of red fruit, white chocolate, and caramel. (www.cristal-jeroboam2002.com)
