Clase Azul redefines the art of distilling with five sets of 15 bottles of rare ultra-aged tequila. Handcrafted by Mexican artists, each of these bottles represents a moment in Mexico’s history. Themes depicted in México a través del tiempo (mexicoatravesdeltiempo.com) include Popol Vuh, the book of Mayan legends; the Holy Inquisition, which caused so much suffering; and the Surrealists (pictured), a tribute to a group of 20th-century female artists. Two of the five sets will be sold by the bottle for $30,000 each; two others will be sold as complete sets for $450,000 each. The last will remain on exhibition. All of the profits go to the Clase Azul Foundation, which supports regional Mexican artisans.
