Robb Report exclusive: The Scotch Malt Whisky Society of America Cask #45.11

The Society (as enthusiasts know it) has attracted a devoted following over its more than 30-year history, owing primarily to its private stock of unique casks of unfiltered, unblended, and undiluted malt whiskies. Cask #45.11 hails from the Dallas Dhu Distillery in Highland, which shut down more than 20 years ago. Founded in 1899, the distillery is now open to the public as a historic monument.

Cask #45.11 was distilled in 1975 and matured in American oak, which contributes to its vibrant gold color. The flavor, both powerful and complex, displays a full cornucopia of spice and fruit essences, from vanilla cream to apple, orange, and peach. Of the 186-bottle outturn of Cask #45.11, 100 have been kindly set aside by the Society as an exclusive holiday offer to our readers. The price includes the cost of membership. 800.990.1991,

Johnnie Walker Sampler

Scotch lovers are capable of debating late into the evening—if not into the wee hours of the next morning—the question of which Johnnie Walker blended Scotch is the best. Why choose one? This boxed set contains one of each: 200ml bottles of Johnnie Walker Black, Red, Blue, and Gold. It may not end the debate, but it will make the argument more enjoyable.

Chivas Regal Royal Salute 21 Year Old

One of the premier blended Scotch whiskies, the Royal Salute 21 Year Old comes in a ceramic decanter made by the famed Spode china works. The special blending of fine aged malts produces a sweet, lingering taste, the perfect after-dinner complement to a worthy cigar.

Courvoisier Erté Collection

Erté, the famed French Art Deco painter, was a connoisseur of Courvoisier’s fine brandy. Shortly before his death in 1990, he completed a series of eight paintings to be used for these special, limited edition decanters. The classic blend of Grand Champagne brandies includes some of the rare 1892 vintage, to commemorate the year of the artist’s birth.

Connemara Peated Single Malt

An Irish single malt roasted over peat fires? Why not? Cooley, Ireland’s only independent distillery, offers this wonderful, oak-aged bottling, which starts with honey and fruit flavors and ends with the peaty taste of Ireland’s wild northwest coast.
