Vinyasa in the Vineyard

Most oenophiles passively enjoy the unintended health consequence of their passion: that wine may help promote a healthy heart. Several Napa Valley wineries will make that connection an active one this summer by offering exclusive fitness classes in their vineyards. Domaine Carneros is hosting personalized yoga classes for groups of 8 to 10 on the terrace of its chateau, catering to guests’ levels of experience. A post-workout flute of the house specialty—organic sparkling wine—and a private tour through the vineyards follows the morning session. Afterward, enjoy an elegant alfresco brunch and a curated private tasting. Or enjoy the views from the veranda of St. Helena’s Vineyard 29 while you practice Pilates. Cool down with a walk to the wine cave, an exclusive peek into the winemaking process, a one-hour tasting, and then a customized spa lunch. For those who seek to strengthen their muscles as well as their wine cellars, a stay at Napa Valley’s chic Solage Calistoga resort might foster that goal. This summer the resort is launching focused wellness programs, such as the August 16 half-day of boxing, TRX suspension training, and total body conditioning. (Domaine Carneros, 707.257.0101, www.domainecarneros.com; Vineyard 23, 707.963.9292, www.vineyard29.com; Solage Calistoga, 707.226.0828, www.solagecalistoga.com)
