Napa Valley Festival Promotes Wellness

An annual tradition for the past nine years, Napa Valley Festival del Sole returns this summer from July 11 through 20. The 10-day festival offers live performances by world-class musicians, dancers, and opera singers, along with some of the finest wine and cuisine available in the winegrowing region. This year, the event also includes a deeper focus on wellness.

On Saturday, July 12, practice your poses en plein air with a 9 am yoga session at the Harvest Inn in St. Helena, Calif. The class culminates with a glass of wine and healthy snacks. From 11 am to 2 pm, savor gourmet food and wine from nearly 70 restaurants while joining wellness conversations targeting health and happiness. The interactive discussion “Spice and Supernutrients,” presented by Melina Jampolis, MD, will teach the health benefits of herbs and spices and provide a cooking demonstration.

On July 19, participate in expert-led panels on the topic “Wellness, and All That Springs from It” at Bardessono—California’s first LEED Platinum-certified hotel—from 9 am to noon. Guest speakers include Garo Kassabian, MD, a Beverly Hills health and beauty expert, and Wendy Bazilian, a nutrition expert, who will discuss “The Transformative Power of Flavor: Herbs and Spices and Your Health. “Between sessions, the hotel’s award-winning executive chef, Victor Scargle, will conduct an exclusive tour of Lucy Restaurant and Bar’s private garden.
