The Power of Love Gala

Even by the standards of Las Vegas—a city known for over-the-top affairs—the annual Power of Love gala is distinctive. “If there’s  a gala in this country that’s more upscale, I don’t know about it,” says Larry Ruvo, the co-founder and chairman of Keep Memory Alive, the foundation that sponsors the event to support the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, a leading institution for research into and care of patients with neuro-degenerative disorders. The center manages one of the largest Alzheimer’s clinical trial programs in the country and employs the only two fellowship-trained multiple sclerosis neurologists in Nevada. It is also the home of the only study researching the effects of repeated head trauma in the professional fighting community.

The Power of Love gala at the MGM Grand takes place on Saturday, April 26,and this year honors Gloria and Emilio Estefan. Individual seats range from $1,500 to $7,500, and tables start at $15,000 and go up to $100,000. Call Keep Memory Alive at 702.263.9797 to purchase tickets. www.keepmemoryalive.org
