MORNING SESSIONS

9:00 am: Managing Stress Like an Olympic Athlete: Training Secrets of Elite Champions
Learn techniques for coping with stress and anxiety from Dr. Jeff Nalin, Olympic swimmer Markus Rogan, and professional baseball player Luke Salas of Paradigm Malibu. When one performance can mean the difference between glory and obscurity, between multi-million dollar contracts and subsistence-level income, you are forced to learn to face extreme anxiety. The experts will define anxiety as it applies to world-class performers and point out striking similarities to the anxiety you and I face every day. Anxiety is not a fixed, unchangeable personality characteristic. Rather, it is a dynamic correlation of excessive worry and physiological symptoms. In this talk, we will discover what anxiety really is, what it's good for, and how we can use it to our advantage in the most important moments of our lives.

10:00 am: Weekend Warrior workshop
Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Dr. Elizabeth Matzkin will discuss how to stay injury-free so you can enjoy your leisure pursuits with less pain and more power. With special guests Brian MacKenzie and Gabby Reece.

11:00 am: Back to the Future: New Horizons in Spinal Health
Dr. Najeeb Thomas of Surgical Specialists of Louisiana will discuss maintaining spine health, non-invasive back surgery, and the future of stem cell treatments for spinal degeneration.

Noon: The Longevity Lifestyle
Live healthier longer with advice from Dr. Gary Small of UCLA Health. Thanks to advances in medicine, people are living longer than ever before, but not necessarily living better. Scientific evidence indicates genetics are only one predictor for our health outcomes. Nongenetic factors have an even greater impact on healthy aging. Learn how to achieve optimal physical and mental function through exercise, physical connection, mental health, stress management and social engagement.
