Long known for its opulent and contemporary twists on the ancient art of mosaics, Bisazza is now expanding its product line beyond kitchens and bathrooms. The Italian company is opening showrooms in the United States and Europe to better demonstrate its signature wallpaperlike application in nontraditional settings, such as the dining room or study. "There was a need for us to take this exquisite product and present it in a sophisticated setting—an essential part of buying luxury goods is the experience," says Elliott Forte, the Los Angeles flagship store’s manager. Showrooms in Chicago and Moscow will be decorated in designs from the 2008 collection—including bold animal prints and hexagonal patterns that create optical illusions—and will feature Bisazza’s new line of home furnishings. "Our large rectangular and circular mirrors are the most exciting," Forte says. "We’ve framed them in 24-karat white- or yellow-gold tiles, which reflect light."
