1} Marie France Van Damme Known for her globally influenced, Riviera-ready collections, the fashion designer Marie France Van Damme bridges the gap between day and evening wear through versatile pieces that can be easily mixed and matched for all occasions. Her first boutique in Hong Kong, which opened last year on the third floor of the International Finance Centre, fuses understated elegance with dramatic Asian style. +852.2882.9088, www.mariefrancevandamme.com

2} Pacific Place If the wavy stone exterior of this upscale mall recalls a J.J. Abrams sci-fi movie, the inside presents a warmer ambience by comparison. Redesigned in 2011 by Britain’s Thomas Heatherwick, the shopping center incorporates glass, steel, and skylights to create a softer, organic feel. Luxury brands such as Harvey Nichols, Jo Malone, and Prada are among the mall’s nearly 140 shops. +852.2844.8900, www.pacificplace.com.hk

3} Shanghai Tang Located in an art deco–inspired mansion on Duddell Street, the Hong Kong–born international luxury chain’s 15,000-square-foot flagship store boasts an impressive three-story, etched-glass facade rising above the street level. In the foyer, a crystal chandelier forms the Chinese shòu character for longevity. The brand’s stylish and sophisticated wares—home decor, accessories, ready-to-wear fashions—celebrate Chinese culture. +852.2525.7333, www.shanghaitang.com

4} Konzepp This shop (not shown) is not hard to find: Just look for the distinctive yellow facade—a brightly colored polygonal plane that seems to wend its way from within the store and out to the street. Launched in 2011 by the Canadian-born designer Geoff Tsui and the film producer Willie Chan, this combination boutique, café, design incubator, and party venue is fast becoming a landmark in the area of Sheung Wan. It offers clothing, bags, and accessories from Henry Vibskov and other international tastemakers. +852.2803.0339, www.shop.konzepp.com
