Last fall, the 15-year-old Sanctuary resort in Scottsdale, Ariz., unveiled its new look. The destination spa—nestled into Camelback Mountain and offering views of Paradise Valley—completed a contemporary update to its guest rooms that included neutral tones, wood furnishings, and local artworks. Butterfly area rugs in each of the spaces not only add color but also reference the resort’s certification as a monarch butterfly habitat. In the bathrooms, oversize soaking tubs sit against shimmering walls of smoked mirrored glass and beneath skylights that bring in the soothing desert light. sanctuaryaz.com
