This spring, the luxury-home-furnishings brand Restoration Hardware (RH) is setting the table for the first time. The 33-year-old company’s inaugural tableware collection encompasses a host of sleek items, consisting of 800 pieces ($8 to $259) that range from Chinese porcelain and English silver plate to German crystal from Riedel and Belgian linen. Most striking are the porcelain items, which include plates in five sizes and serving pieces in four neutral colors designed to be mixed and matched. RH created the porcelain collection in conjunction with Peri Wolfman, cofounder of the esteemed SoHo store Wolfman-Gold & Good Company, which closed its doors in 1999. RH’s tabletop pieces are meant to look elegant enough for formal celebrations but simple enough for everyday use.

Beyond the table, the company also has launched its new Objects of Curiosity line, which comprises more than 400 items (from $25 for a mini leather frame to $3,995 for a pair of World War II–inspired celestial binoculars) designed to accent and accessorize the home. For the collection, RH has collaborated with 13 artisans and experts from across the world. The Netherlands-based historical revivalist Karel Heinen, for example, has created reproductions of ancient busts and architectural fragments; the French artisan and anthropologist Stéphane Davoy has reproduced rarities such as South Seas turtles and mirrored obelisks; and the Belgium-based antiques collectors Mark Sage and Rudi Nijssen have reimagined a 1920s-era lightbulb voltage tester as a bar for wine and spirits.

Both the tableware and the accessories will be available online this month and in May at select RH Galleries, including the forthcoming RH Boston, a 40,000-square-foot space (the retailer’s largest yet), which is expected to open later this month at the site of the former New England Museum of Natural History.
