The Incredible Ducati XDiavel Cruiser Motorcycle Is Even Sexier in Black
More casual than competitive, the new Ducati XDiavel is a versatile variant from the Italian manufacturer’s crotch-rocket bikes, but it still remembers its racing roots. The brand’s first comfortable cruiser is facilitated by a longer wheelbase of 63.58 inches, a 29.72-inch seat height, widened handlebars, and footpegs extended toward the front. Those in the saddle also have 60 possible body positions to make easy riding a reality.
But don’t mistake laid-back for lethargic, as the XDiavel derives its power from a 156 hp, Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 engine turning out 95 ft lbs of torque. A smooth transition from throttle to thrust is ensured by the use of a belt for the bike’s final drive—a first for Ducati. Handling is also enhanced by electronic assists, such as Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, and a selection of riding modes. And for a real blast, the Ducati Power Launch (DPL) button amplifies acceleration from a standing start.
Dressed to the nines in tuxedo black and with a refined design distinctive to Ducati, the XDiavel has been fashioned to stand out—evidenced by being named the “best-looking bike” at Milan’s EICMA International Motorcycle Exhibition in November. A second version, the XDiavel S, is available in an even tonier trim. Prices for each have yet to be announced. (ducati.com)
