Buccellati, a Milanese high-end jewelry house known for its ornate and meticulous one-off designs, has moved its New York flagship boutique five blocks down Madison Avenue to a sprawling new five-story location in the Upper East Side’s Historic District. Opened in December, the Vudafieri Saverino Partners–designed boutique spans more than 7,000 square feet—almost six times the size of the previous shop—and houses the brand’s entire line of fine jewelry and timepieces; a designated high-jewelry lounge offering a series of one-of-a-kind pieces; and the Family Vault, which showcases the Buccellati family’s private collection (available only to select clientele).

Throughout its nearly 100-year history, Buccellati has produced jewelry inspired by the Italian Renaissance, but the new flagship boutique represents a step toward the future for the international brand. The store’s interior merges traditional and contemporary design, with custom chiseled-wood panels from the contemporary artist Riccardo Beretta, modern Giorgetti furnishings, minimalist display cases, and smoked molten-glass wall details. To celebrate the new location, Buccellati has created five one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces inspired by the works of Claude Monet, Pierre Bonnard, and other impressionist and postimpressionist masters, including a white-gold bangle bracelet—set with 663 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 9.54 carats—inspired by Winslow Homer’s Light Blue Sea at Prout’s Neck (price upon request).
