Ireland’s K Club Offers Golfers Exclusive Use of Its Palmer Ryder Cup Course

The package includes two nights at the K Club’s palatial Straffan House…

While Team Europe and Team USA face off at the Ryder Cup this month in Scotland, Ireland’s K Club is giving golfers the opportunity to fulfill their own Ryder Cup fantasies by affording them and up to 143 of their closest friends exclusive access to the Palmer Ryder Cup Course, which hosted the 2006 tournament. The $110,000 package includes a two-night stay at the K Club’s Straffan House, a 34,000-square foot château that was originally the private residence of the club’s owner, Michael Smurfit. The residence is equipped with 10 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a private wine cellar, a movie theater, and an indoor pool with a swim-up bar. During the day, guests will play as many as two rounds on the Arnold Palmer–designed Palmer Ryder Cup Course—which has hosted 11 European Opens in addition to the Ryder Cup—where they will be joined by K Club’s golf pro, Michael Dixon, who will advise them on ways to improve their game and even play a round with them, if desired.
