Since 1969, Frontiers International has been leading hunters and anglers into the wild in pursuit of sporting challenges and trophies. But few if any of the adventures it previously orchestrated can compare with the two-week fly-fishing extravaganza that the Wexford, Pa., outfitter is offering to a Robb Report reader and five guests. Before the journey begins, fly-fishing expert Jack Dennis, author of several books on the subject, will conduct a fly-tying demonstration and offer tying lessons at a location near New York or Los Angeles, the two possible departure points for the trip. (Other departure arrangements can be made with Frontiers.) Dennis also will provide each angler with a selection of flies specifically designed for use on the waters the group will fish during the expedition, and he will give each a signed copy of his Western Fly Tying Manual.

In addition, you and your guests will receive complete fly-fishing outfits from L.L. Bean, each of which will include two fly rods and reels, fly lines, leaders, a fishing vest, waders, sunglasses, a pair of Bean Boots, and other vital accessories.

Sufficiently equipped and educated on the finer points of the pastime, your group will board a private jet for a flight to Dixon, Wyo., on your way to a seven-night, six-day stay at the Three Forks Ranch, a 200,000-acre cattle ranch on the Colorado-Wyoming border that has more than 16 miles of private brooks, streams, and lakes teeming with trout. In addition to guided fly-fishing, Three Forks offers clay shooting, horseback riding, and four-wheeler driving, among other pursuits.

From Colorado, you will continue to another seven-night, six-day stay at the Bristol Bay Lodge, located 40 miles north of Dillingham, Alaska, in Wood-TikChik State Park. There, you and your guides will board the lodge’s DeHavilland Beaver floatplane each morning bound for waters populated with five varieties of Pacific salmon, wild rainbow trout, and other fish that have earned Alaska its reputation as an angler’s paradise. A Frontiers International representative will accompany the group throughout the trip to ensure that the only thing the fly-fishers have to worry about is besting the previous day’s catch.

You and your guests will return home from the journey with more than just memories. Advanced Wildlife Design of Toronto will provide each member of the party with a reproduction mount of the fish of his or her choice, and artist Alan James Robinson will create for each traveler two original pieces of art that incorporate topographic maps of the resorts and images of the regions’ fish and wildlife.

Price: $338,700. Contact: Frontiers International, 724.935.1577, info@frontierstravel.com. This gift is limited to one Robb Report reader. Although the trip is designed for a party of six, guests can be added for an additional fee. Transportation to and from the departure point is not included.
