The Best of the Best 2003: U.S. Golf Resorts - Casa Palmero at Pebble Beach

It has become almost a cliché to include the Lodge at Pebble Beach on any list of the country’s top golf resorts. When you combine the incomparable golf course with the Lodge’s reputation as a hostelry of distinction, placing the Lodge on the list is the equivalent of a two-inch tap-in: It’s automatic.

One of the best, however, has become even better with the addi-
tion of Casa Palmero at Pebble Beach. The Mediterranean-style villa, which houses only 24 luxurious rooms and suites, overlooks the first hole on Pebble’s famed course and sits adjacent to the Spa at Pebble Beach. Oversize rooms, all with wood-burning fireplaces and many with private balconies or courtyards with hot tubs, entice guests to stay and relax.

In addition to the Pebble course, guests can obtain treasured tee times at Spyglass Hill and the Links at Spanish Bay. Après golf, or for an informal dinner, the Tap Room offers studied elegance amid a century’s worth of golf memorabilia. For fine dining and an endless wine list, few restaurants on the West Coast can compare with Club XIX.
