Sparkle and Shine ❖ Culminating a two-year, $140 million renovation, the New York Palace (www.newyorkpalace.com) completed two 5,000-square-foot triplex suites (from $25,000 per night) in September and November. In the Champagne Suite, a wine cave houses a rotating collection of rare Dom Pérignon vintages. Next door, the Jewel Suite by Martin Katz—created by the New York–based jewelry designer and the architecture firm BBG-BBGM—comes with a diamond microband ring and the ability to meet with Katz for private showings and design consultations.

Top Spots ❖ Also in November, the Thompson Chicago (www.thompsonhotels.com) debuted six new bi-level penthouse suites (from $1,500 per night) outfitted with velvet banquettes, tweed throws, and fur pillows. Two of the 655-square-foot spaces include private terraces, and all afford views of the Chicago skyline or Lake Michigan.

Bay Beauty ❖ Set within a 19th-century mansion on the shores of Sausalito, Calif., the new Alexandrite Suite at Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa (www.casamadrona.com) will debut in March with two bedrooms, a chef’s kitchen, and a 1,500-square-foot terrace overlooking Richardson Bay. The suite (from $10,000 per night) also includes an office and a personal fitness center.
