The four-bedroom, five-fireplace Basque Retreat—a Telluride, Colo., estate with views across Aldasoro Ranch to the San Juan Mountains—is one of seven properties available to members of the Solstice private residence club (800.505.7895, www.lifestyled.com), a new entry in the second-home market that aims to ensure privacy by limiting membership rolls. Solstice offers only 42 memberships (more than half have been sold), which are available in four-week ($415,000 deposit) or eight-week ($675,000 deposit) options. Members, who pay annual dues of $22,000 and $35,000, respectively, have exclusive access to the Solstice club homes, which range in value from $4 million to $7 million. In addition to Telluride’s Basque Retreat, the club has acquired estates in Napa Valley, Calif.; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Paris; St. Barth’s in the French West Indies; Aspen, Colo. (available this summer); and Florence, Italy (available in fall). Members also have access to Solstice, a 90-foot Dover yacht that sails along the shores of Belize, the Bahamas, and New England.
