Greaves Tours Plans an Indulgent Trip through India

To experience India’s vast and varied cultures, cuisines, and sites, Greaves Tours—which specializes in custom excursions to India, Nepal, Bhutan, and more—has just launched its most over-the-top trip: the 19-day Million Dollar Tour through the Indian cities of Delhi, Agra, Gwalior, Varanasi,  Hyderabad, Mumbai, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Bandhavgarh National Park, all by private jet. The tour is priced at $100,000 per person (based on a group of 10).

The trip includes first-class airfare to India, five-star accommodations at the Imperial Hotel in Delhi, the Mahua Kothi Resort in Bandhavgarh National Park, the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, and more, with one-of-a-kind excursions. While guests will visit major sites including the Taj Mahal and the Elephanta Caves, Greaves has also arranged a boat ride down the Ganges to watch the sunrise in Varanasi, high tea in the Jade Room at the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad (where guests will also stay three nights), an evening onboard a 150-year-old royal barge in Ranakpur, and a private party at the Royal House of Jaipur, to name a few.

By day, the Delhi-based writer and historian William Dalrymple—known for his novel City of Djinns—will take guests to his favorite spots in his city and the wildlife conservationist and filmmaker Toby Sinclair will accompany the group on game drives in Bandhavgarh National Park. Guests will also privately tour the Prince of Wales Museum in Mumbai and the Sarnath Museum in Varanasi, led by museum curators. By night, private dinners will be held at the famed Spice Route and Bukhara restaurants in Delhi, with members of the royal family on the ramparts of Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, and atop a terrace in a private residence overlooking Mumbai.

Golf at the Delhi Golf Club, shopping tours of the pearl and jewelry districts of Hyderabad, morning hot-air-balloon rides, elephant polo, camel rides, private yoga sessions, spa treatments, and more are available upon request. (800.318.7801,www.greavesindia.com)
