Indigo Island

Privately owned and absent from any maps, Indigo Island guards the identities of its clients as closely as it does its exact location in the Exumas. Indigo’s centerpiece is a hilltop pavilion with a master suite and Dining room furnished in a rich blend of exotic tapestries, carvings, armoires, mirrors, lanterns, and antiques. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls offer panoramic views of the ocean during the day and sunsets at day’s end. Adjoining pavilions, accessible by sheltered paths, house the island’s spa, gym, and ably staffed and well-stocked kitchen. Accommodations The main pavilion and five villas can accommodate one party of as many as 18 guests, typically for a minimum period of one week. Recreation Hiking, tennis, deep-sea fishing, bonefishing, waterskiing, Jet Skiing, windsurfing, and sailing. Dining The island’s staff catches most of the fish and grows the majority of the produce for chef Lyne Desaulniers’ specialties. Worthy Diversion Take the resort’s 32-foot Intrepid powerboat out with a healthy portion of table scraps to see some of the tiger and bull sharks that add to the Exumas’ infamous reputation. Rates From $26,000 per day for up to eight guests to $322,000 per week for a party of 18.
