In 1493, plucky Italian explorer Christopher Columbus discovered St. Barts, a tiny tropical isle between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Today, the hotel Eden Rock, St. Barths, honors his discovery with the aptly named Christopher Columbus Suite. Seemingly suspended over the Caribbean Sea, the glass-enclosed residence features an open-concept layout and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the tropical waters below. The 2,200-square-foot suite showcases an intimate dining nook, a private bar, a spacious master suite, and a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and a separate dressing room. Light-oak floors and Carrara-marble touches add to the suite’s modern, airy feel. Outside, the terrace connects to a slew of other suites, making it the ideal option for large groups. Nightly rates begin at $4,373. (edenrockhotel.com
