A Parisian Garden Party

Jill Newman

The celebrated Parisian hotel Le Bristol unveiled its newly renovated garden, offering guests a peaceful refuge in the city. With 13,000 square feet, the garden is an ideal location for cocktails, dining, or simply lounging among the sprawling magnolia trees and blooming array of flowers. Alongside the garden is outdoor terrace seating for the hotel’s Michelin three-star restaurant Epicure, helmed by the executive chef Eric Frechon.

The garden is among the latest in a series of renovations that began four years ago and has touched every aspect of the historic property (established in 1925) on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Other features include the Spa Le Bristol by La Prairie situated over three levels; several newly renovated rooms and suites, including the two-bedroom Imperial Suite at 2,850 square feet, plus a connecting room for a total of up to 3,475 square feet; and a swimming pool and outdoor sundeck.

Another attraction for both guests and locals is Le Bar du Bristol, a stylish bar designed by the architect Pierre-Yves Rochon and Maja Oetker, a member of the Oetker family that owns the property. Its 27-year-old master mixologist, Maxime Hoerth, calls it “a liquid spa,” and he’s experimenting with a diverse selection of elixirs. His latest is an interpretation of the mint julep made with peach-infused gin, a touch of simple syrup, fine white wine, and crushed mint. (+33.53.43.43.00, www.lebristolparis.com)
