Private Preview 2005: Poetry in Motion

<< Back to Robb Report, October 2004

East of the Silverado Trail, high above the Napa Valley floor, guests at the Poetry Inn will gaze from their balconies at the vineyards from which they will produce their own wines. Cliff Lede Vineyards, a Napa newcomer that released its first vintages in April, plans to debut its bed-and-breakfast in February 2005 and, in the months that follow, begin offering a Blend Your Own Barrel program for wine-collecting couples. The five-room inn, named after the winery’s Poetry Cabernet, will be the only public accommodation in the Stags Leap District. Couples participating in the BYOB program will have the option to stay at the inn during the two-day sessions of vineyard tours and blending trials. Each couple will produce their own estate wine, selecting barrel lots from specific Cliff Lede vineyards in the Stags Leap District and Mount Veeder. The $15,000-per-couple price will include 120 bottles of the participants’ blend.
