Private Preview 2005: Spreading Its Wings

<< Back to Robb Report, October 2004

Eagles Nest, a resort of four private villas perched above the town of Russell on New Zealand’s Bay of Islands, will bring a new level of luxury to the Land of the Long White Cloud when it opens a fifth home, the Island Villa, in July 2005. The 6,500-square-foot property (with a 1,600-square-foot courtyard) will include five bedroom suites, nine bathrooms, a private beach, and a helipad; Auckland International Airport is an hour away by helicopter. Exclusive use of an 82-foot vanishing-edge lap pool and a pair of late-model Porsches will be included in the high-season rate, which is $100,000 New Zealand (approximately $64,000 U.S.) per week. During the May-through-August low season, rates will be negotiable for weddings, conferences, and other functions.
