The Robb Report Club invited members on a curated journey to the South American highlights of Chilean Patagonia and Buenos Aires. The adventure began on the Nomads of the Seas 150-foot expedition cruiser Atmosphere. Limited to 28 guests, the exclusive ship is equipped with a Bell helicopter and a fleet of specialized watercraft, which enable passengers to access otherwise unreachable destinations.

The ship cruises by night and anchors in the unspoiled fjords and channels of Chile’s southern coast by day. Bespoke itineraries are defined 12 to 24 hours in advance so expeditions can take into account climatic conditions, tides, cetacean location, and fish behavior. Once positioned in the day’s ideal spot, guests spent their time trekking, kayaking, dolphin and bird watching, hot-spring bathing, and fly-fishing. Portable zodiacs were available for heli-fishing operations and jet boats provided access across even the most formidable rivers. Ascents in the Bell helicopter showcased the legendary Andes’ blue glaciers and snowy peaks.

Atmosphere is as much an outdoor adventure arsenal as it is a floating luxury resort. On the spa deck, club members could choose from a sweetwater pool, a massage room, and several regenerative thalassotherapy pools. Renowned Chilean chef Guillermo Rodríguez prepared masterful versions of local dishes paired with fine Chilean wines.

After five days in Patagonia, the group took a short business-class flight for three days in Buenos Aires. From their home base at the Philippe Starck–designed Faena Hotel, guests discovered the capital’s enchanting blend of art nouveau, Neo-Renaissance, Bauhaus, and beaux-arts facades on a specialized architectural tour. Excursions ranging from a tango show in a dark cabaret to a traditional asado meal, a Malbec tasting, and an afternoon at the Argentine Open polo championship provided an insider’s view of the city’s thriving culture.
