A Seven-Day Heli-Ski Retreat in the Canadian Rockies

The 5,620-foot Mount Mackenzie is an ideal place for adventurous skiers. With a new heli-ski package offered by travel concierge Black Tomato, Bighorn Lodge—a ski chalet at the Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia—is inviting guests to ski the rarely touched peak and is providing its own professional videographer to capture the footage (from $14,756 per person for the week with flights to and from Los Angeles).

The eight-bedroom lodge is situated at the base of the Canadian Rockies and is equipped with its own helipad, so thrill seekers can be picked up for daily heli-skiing outings to Mackenzie and the surrounding Selkirk and Monashee Mountains. Aside from skiing, guests can take guided tours of Revelstoke’s glaciers and forests or have a massage at the lodge, which sleeps up to 16 guests and has an indoor pool, a sauna, a gym, a pool table, a movie theater, and an outdoor sound system and hot tub. The lodge will provide a private chef for the week to prepare all meals, which can include lunch between ski sessions at a helicopter pickup point on the mountainside and a five-course dinner, composed of locally sourced ingredients, to close out your stay.
