On 13,000 acres in Wyoming’s North Platte River Valley, The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch, a new getaway spot for outdoor-lovers, opens on June 16. The expansive property accommodates everything from big game hunting, horseback riding, shooting and archery, simulated golf, a spa, and a library. Neighboring a million-acre national forest, the lodge’s on-site, 50-mile trail system is designed for hiking, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, snowmobiling, and more.

The historic homestead and ranch, which has been operating since the 1880s, features 13 rooms and nine suites ($720 to $1,600 per night), and 15 two- and three-bedroom log cabins ($1,800 to $6,600 per night), which include a kitchen, dining area, and living room. There is also the Magee Homestead ($720 to $1,600 per night), a private lodge with a set of four cabins on the water. For dining, the log-cabin-like Chuck Wagon is known for barbecue but serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well; and the main dining venue, the Trailhead Great Room, features a bar and wraparound decks for outdoor dining. Guests also can opt for custom dining experiences throughout the ranch, or have a drink at the old-fashioned saloon.  (307.327.5284, www.brushcreekranch.com)
