Sneak Peek: Hotel Monteverdi, Tuscany

Hotel Monteverdi opened in early August in the restored 11th-century Tuscan village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro, joining three other Monteverdi villa properties that opened in the village over the past year. It has five rooms and two suites, which overlook the hillside and cypress fields (from about $300 per night), along with a pool, café, and bar. Guests have access to a personal chef, cooking lessons, and in-room spa treatments, as well as wine tastings in the hotel’s private cellar and vineyard tours. Nearby activities include year-round music festivals and the opportunity to participate in an archaeological dig led by the University of Siena. (866.644.0787, www.monteverdituscany.com/hotel)
