Nizuc Resort and Spa had its soft opening last month in Punta Nizuc, Mexico, at the gateway to the Riviera Maya. The property has 274 suites and 29 private villas set among the lush scenery of mangroves and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest coral reef in the world. The property has six gourmet restaurants, including ones that serve Mexican, Peruvian, and Mediterranean fare. The hotel is also home to a 30,000-square-foot Espa spa and wellness center offering treatments that incorporate Mayan traditions and rituals. (855.696.4982, www.nizuc.com)
