Singita Mara River Tented Camp has opened in the northernmost tip of Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The property can accommodate up to 16 guests in its eco-sensitive and solar-powered tents (from $1,200 a night) nestled on the banks of the Mara River. Famous for its dense population of hippos and crocodiles, as well as the annual wildebeest migration crossing, the location on the Mara River gives visitors a close encounter with the nature and wildlife of the Serengeti with minimum environmental impact. There are only six tents: four can sleep two people, and two larger family tents can accommodate up to four. Amenities include spacious decks, a screened splash pool, and guide-led daily game drives.
