Sneak Peek: The Waikiki Edition, Honolulu

The Waikiki Edition, which opens October 15 in Honolulu, is hotelier Ian Schrager’s first venture with Marriott International. Artist and surfer Herbie Fletcher designed the hotel’s reception decor, a wall-to-wall surfboard installation composed of 100 broken surfboards once used by some of the world’s most renowned pipeline surfers. Main attraction: acclaimed Japanese chef Masaharu Morimoto’s restaurant, Morimoto Waikiki, in addition to a private inland beach, two expansive pools, an outdoor movie theater, and lush tropical gardens.
