Spa Nautica: A New Oasis in Marina del Rey

Spa Nautica opened last month at the Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey, a small seaside community on Los Angeles’s Westside. After the hotel’s previous spa closed two and half years ago, Ritz-Carlton took its time finding a spa provider that would advance its goal of providing locals and guests with a “metropolitan oasis” where they could relax, revitalize, and escape the frenzy of the city.

The full-service spa—tucked into a niche between the hotel’s private rose garden and the harbor—offers massages, body wraps, and facials, as well as manicure/pedicures. The eight-room facility’s signature service, the L.A. Lift, uses products from the lauded skin-care company Natura Bissé to perform a noninvasive face-lift that tightens facial muscles while soothing the skin. (Collections by Natura Bissé—recently named the “Best Luxury Spa Brand” by one beauty outlet—are found in other treatments as well, including the Magnetic Ritual, which exfoliates the skin by using the brand’s diamond dust and then magnetically removing it.) Or, for total spa immersion, try the Lomi-Juma Massage Ritual: The two-hour service includes skin exfoliation, a body wrap, and a Swedish massage. (www.spanautica.com)
