Cessna’s Citation X Now a Ten

Since 1996, the X model has topped Cessna’s line of Citation jets, holding the “fastest civilian aircraft” title with speeds of more than 600 mph. Now it’s getting a makeover: Cessna is adding 15 inches to the length of the eight-seat cabin and an updated interior with fiber optics, touch screens, Wi-Fi, and plenty of power outlets for productivity. The new model, an X morphed into a Ten, will also be the first to feature Garmin’s latest avionics suite, the G5000. With updated Rolls-Royce engines and elliptical winglets to boost performance, Cessna aims for the Ten to hold on to its “fastest” status against Gulfstream’s G650, which is in the works for 2012. The first Ten, priced at $21.5 million, will reach customers in 2013. (800.423.7762, www.cessna.com)
