The XRS replaced the original Global Express jet when it started deliveries in December 2005. It features greater fuel capacity and more payload/range loading options than the original design. An improved swept-back wing helps the XRS take off and land at slower speeds, so it can get in and out of smaller airports. The quiet, luxurious cabin stretches 48 feet, with plenty of amenities and extra-high pressurization to battle fatigue on long, globe-straddling flights. A new Global Vision cockpit upgrade is available for 2011, featuring a state-of-the-art Rockwell Collins avionics suite combined with a fresh ergonomic design.
