The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S adds power and posture to a vehicle—the Cayenne Turbo—that has dominated the performance SUV market since its introduction nearly four years ago. The new model massages an extra 70 hp from its 4.5-liter V-8, now producing an impressive 520 hp, and bumps torque from 460 ft lbs to 530 ft lbs. It dispatches with the zero-to-60 run in a scant 4.8 seconds, nearly a half-second quicker than the Turbo. The Turbo S also features upgraded brakes and 20-inch wheels, which enhance the Cayenne’s steady, composed behavior.
No one will mistake the $112,000 Turbo S for a Carrera, but drivers of high-performance sedans would have to make few compromises to pilot the Cayenne.
