Porsche reserves the “Turbo S” designation for its most extreme creations, and the 2014 model year raises the bar with the Porsche Panamera Turbo S (www.porsche.com). The car is an amped-up version of the 520 hp Panamera Turbo that made lots of friends at Robb Report’s most recent Car of the Year competition. A 570 hp, 4.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 and all-wheel drive launch the Sport Chrono–equipped version of the car from zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds—a stunning time that only hints at the car’s capability. The signature yellow calipers identify Porsche’s ceramic-composite brake system, which is included in the base price of about $180,000. Porsche also offers a longer and pricier Executive version, for those who prefer to enjoy a car’s performance from the backseat.
